Alaska Day 9

Drove to Wasilla for supplies. Planned to try Nancy Lakes for pike. Saw lots of 2 cm pike, but no 100 cm pike.
The fishing shop said anything North of the Chulitna river would have grayling, so headed towards Denali. First river was Troublesome Creek. I walked upstream with minimal luck, until I came around a corner and found a fisherman by the bank re-rigging. He had lost his clippers, so I loaned him mine. We chatted, he gave some tips, and before I knew it we had joined up to fish down river. I got a nice grayling. We fished till 1 am.

Alaska Day 8

3rd day at Montana Creek.
Fishing was good, but not as good as the day before. A lot fewer people
There was a family near me and the daughter commented that she had never seen a fish caught on a fly rod. This resulted in me offering her lessons - she caught a beautiful pink salmon after 30 minutes of coaching.

Alaska Day 6

Saw the old house we lived in 20 years ago.

Montana creek. Tons of fish. Landed 3 Chum and 2 Pinks. Lost a ton more.  The Chums were strong and acrobatic!  The Pinks were starting to change, but stiff fought above their weight.  Also got a sucker, and saw some grayling behind the salmon.
