Last day fishing.  No luck.  Packed up by 10 and headed back to Anchorage for the LONG trip home.

Jim's Landing.  Got a ton of small DV's and Rainbows.  Lost a BIG fish that took me to the middle of the river - not sure if it was a trout or a silver, but I suspect a trout.

Jim's is hammered in the evening as boats pull out, but it is empty in the morning!

Alaska #2 Day 32

Started the morning at Sportmans Landing.  Got a couple of whitefish.  Moved to Jim's landing and got a nice dolly.  On the way, saw someone looking at a mountain with binoculars.  You can see 20+ mountain goats as little white dots!

Fished the Anchor hard.  Nothing.  It was raining, and the water was still rising, so decided to go to the Kenai.  (Turned out this was a major mistake, and the next day the Anchor was on fire - from two people who both said they got 10+ steelhead over 30")

Troutfitters suggested Jim's landing to fish, which I tried to no luck - but I did see some fish caught there.

Back to the Anchor.  The fishing shop gave some great advice on eggs to use for steelhead -- 8mm plus beads, mottled, using tippet rings and weights on a dropper.  Also pointed out some great places to fish.  Tried a lot of spots, but the water was high.  Spoke to a lot of people -- no one had anything except one guy using a pixie.

Camped at Quartz Creek.  After a few flicks, headed back to Anchorage, still recovering from the Harding Icefield hike.  Rocked past our old house.  Had dinner with Janie.

Shattered by the previous day, went to Quartz creek.  Again, nothing.  Mostly sat in the sun

Harding icefield.  17km return.  1km elevation gain.  Totally shattered me.  Lots of people on the trail.
