Alaska Day 16

 Drove down to the Russian.  Fished for trout behind the crowds.  Then met Vasilev at Jims landing and got a bunch of small dolly varden.

 A down day.  Shopping in Anchorage.

 Elsa came down.  We got one keeper red we took back to her parents and had for dinner.

Alaska Day 13

 Fishing in the morning, I have formed a pattern of fishing with some Polish / Ukranian guys who are also fly fishing.  In the afternoon I hiked to Lower Russian Lake, which wasnt really fishable.  But then tried the Russian and got a nice trout.  The Russian was so crowded.  Check the background of the guy fishing ....

Alaska Day 12

 Early morning on the Russian.  Went to Jim's landing for trout in the evening.

Alaska Day 11

 A slow day.  Probably only 3 or 4 fair caught and landed.

Decided to treat myself to a pizza.

Ate some wild salmon berries.

Alaska Day 10

 Catch rate really dropping.  Have to go down at 4:00 am to get fish before the crowds arrive.

The bear was really on display!

At lunch time took a drive to recharge the phone.  Spent the afternoon reading on the tablet.

Alaska Day 9

The sockeye were becoming harder, and the crowds more annoying.  Left at about 10.  Tried Quartz in the afternoon for one DV -- there were SO MANY SALMON.

Alaska Day 8

 Back to the Russian.  Crowds are walking through the fish, making it hard.  Had a nap at lunch time, and then fished a flesh fly for trout and dollies behind the cleaning table.

Alaska Day 7

 A quiet day in town.  Dinner with Janie and the Dieckgraeffs.  Saw a moose with twin calves.
