Sockey fishing was hot. But my fly box was being chewed through.
Saw a grizzly. Easy to spot -- look for the photographers. Had a black bear behind me!

20 Sockeye in the morning. Went to Soldotna to get supplies, and had a nap. Then another 20 in the evening.
It was raining, so I slept in the car overnight. And the heavens opened -- it bucketed down.
Went back to Montana. The river had risen 15cm, and I couldnt wade out to fish where I was fishing yesterday. No one was catching anything. Tried for an hour and tossed in the towel.
Decided to head south. Went to Hope, but the tide was out, and the people fishing didnt seem to be catching much. Didnt even rig up. Went to the Russian and got a camp site. Set up the tent and packed it in.
Headed to Willow Creek. Lots of people, but no catching happening. A group at the end of the walkway said they could see fish. I tried wading out into the creek, but nothing.
Went to Montana creek. Struggled to get 1 Pink. Then I saw a swirl about 200m upstream. I waded up and found a pod of freshish chum -- so many fish!
