Low Head Pilot Light

High winds made it unpleasant.  Tried berley, but no response.  One foul hooked toadfish.  A group arrived to squid fish, but had no luck either.

Four Springs

38mins from car park to lake.  A bright sunny day.  One 12" fish in the last light on a dragonfly nymph.  There was some movement before that ignored the bugger, so a change of fly was the key.

North Esk

28 mins from car park to first access point.  31 minutes till the 'bridge'.  Fished above the bridge.  Had a platypus swim right past me while standing on the bank.  2 fish -- one 11" and one 14".  Then back to Launceston to pick the kids up from the redline bus.

Brumby's Creek

34 minutes from car park to the creek.  Two good hits right below one of the weirs.

Brushy Lagoon

Brushy lagoon was stocked with 1000 rainbows a week ago.  Left at 4:00.  Took 52 minutes to get there via the highway (i.e., not via Exeter).  Not a touch.  Saw one taken, and heard of another two.

After work.  1x 18" Brown that fought well above its weight.  Its fins were damaged -- possibly from the transfer from Great lake..  When the line tightened another one just near the line surfaced in fright.  Weather was rain and wind.

Got there after work.  Perfect fishing weather, but no fish.  Wind was southerly for a change, so I fished the other side of the weed beds -- but no sign.  Not a rise, or touch.

Brushy Lagoon

The lagoon had just been stocked, and there were a ton of people.  However, the wind was cold, I was only there for an hour, and I, like everyone else, didnt see a fish.

Last night, and the night before, went to Four Springs for the evening.  In both cases skunked.  First night saw a few rising fish as the lake calmed to mirror smooth.  Second night had a fair ripple, but no action, not even a rise!

IT was pissing down.  Even got soaked through my Orvis waterproof jacket -- rain getting in through the air vents and the cuffs.

Lost two (broke off the fly on the strike on both).  Missed one.  Got a 14 / 15" rainbow that ran twice -- fought well above its weight.  Lost the bugger when unhooking it.
